Materials Needed:
*1 skein of light color Super Bulky Weight (size 6) yarn. Dark colors are difficult to learn on so please be sure to pick a light color for the class. Any super bulky weight brand will work, the pattern suggests Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick .
*1 Size 13/ (9.0 mm) straight knitting needles (14 inches would be best). *If you think you are going to continue knitting it might be wise to purchase a set of needles in multiple sizes. Knitting is tricky because there are multiple variations you will use if you stick with it. Straight needles, DPN's and circular needles are a few of those variations. When I first started knitting I purchased this straight knitting needle set from Knit Picks (which is my favorite knitting tool store) and it got me started: Rainbow Straight Needle Set (Although please note that the set does not come with 9.0 mm size needles you would need for this project.)
*Tape Measure (optional)
