Welcome to Fortitude Flight School!

Course Overview: High-Flying Grapes is a multi-day immersive course designed to deepen students' understanding of the wine world by diving deep into the most prominent grape varieties. Each session focuses on two grape varieties, with lessons covering their history, tasting profile, regional expressions, winemaking techniques, and ideal food pairings. Students will engage in lectures, guided tastings, and hands-on exercises to build a comprehensive knowledge base.

Day One (April 28th): Chardonnay & Pinot Noir

Day Two (May 5th): Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc

Day Three (May 12th): Syrah & Riesling

Day Four (May 19th): Cabernet Franc & Pinot Gris

The world of wine can feel overwhelming, with thousands of grape varieties, regions, styles, and labels to navigate. For students diving into this vast industry, it can be confusing and intimidating to know where to start. Mastering the fundamentals can make all the difference. By focusing on the top eight grape varieties students can unlock a clearer understanding of wine. These essential grapes represent the backbone of the global wine market, each with its unique characteristics and flavors that provide a foundation for tasting, pairing, and appreciating wine at any level. Learning about these key varieties will empower students to connect the dots between regions, wine-making techniques, and the origins behind each glass, giving them the confidence to explore the world of wine with knowledge and ease.

Dates & Times: Monday evenings 6-8pm April 28th-May 19th

Tickets: $540 (includes all four sessions & applicable taxes)

Materials: Wine and glasswear will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring a phone, tablet, or computer to digitally follow along on lecture slides, as well as notetaking material.

Please note: a minimum of 10 students must be registered for Navigator Series courses to run (refunds will be issued if minimums are not met by the start date of April 28th).
