Ready to learn to crochet? This is the class for you. It is designed for the absolute beginner. By the end of this class you will learn the slip knot, starting chain, single crochet, turning chain, how to read a yarn label and follow a simple pattern and you will learn a little bit about gauge. You will also learn how to make a pom pom and seam ends together, fasten your project off and weave in the ends. You should be walking out with a completed hat or at least be well on your way to completing your project.

Materials Needed:

*1 skein of light color Super Bulky Weight (size 6) yarn. Dark colors are difficult to learn on so please be sure to pick a light color for the class. Any super bulky weight brand will work, the pattern suggests Bernat Softee Chunky. This Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick is a great substitute if you want more color options.

*1 Size L or 11 (8.0 mm) crochet hook (if you think you are going to continue crocheting it might be wise to purchase a set of hooks in multiple sizes: WeCrochet Expanded Bright Crochet Hook Set or even this set from Amazon are great choices to start out with.

*Yarn needle

*Pom Pom Maker (This tool is optional but it is very helpful in making pom poms. The link I've included is for the jumbo size from the suggested size for the pattern, but you can choose a smaller size if you don't want a pom pom that large.)

*Tape Measure (optional)

Class Size and Refund Policies

If the minimum class size listed in the class description is not met by 3 days before the class start date the class will be cancelled, students will be notified and a full refund will be issued. If you decide you would not like to take the class, refunds will be issued for paid classes only if notified one week before the start of the class. There will be no refunds or make up dates for classes you miss, unless the class was cancelled by me.
