Rebecca Collins is a fiddle player/ composer and hails from Kilnaboy, Co. Clare. She’s completed four years studying Irish music and Dance in the Irish World Academy in the University of Limerick. She grew up playing classical music and then with the Shannon family, Garry, Majella, Mary and Sharon from which her roots in traditional music were planted. The Irish Society in Uganda contacted Rebecca and friends in 2017, and she had the honour to play for the Irish ambassador during St. Patrick’s week. In October-December of 2017, Rebecca toured Germany with ‘Dance Masters’ as the shows fiddle player. She has recently taught at Fiddlers farm Summer school in Niedorp, Netherlands and is due to return again in 2025. She will also teach and perform at Bow and Blow festival in France this year. She toured Germany with Celtic Spirit in 2024. Rebecca plays gigs in Doolin, Ennis, Lahinch, Ballyvaughan and Lisdoonvarna in pubs and restaurants weekly. She is currently tutoring fiddle to numbers of students each week in Kilnaboy and on zoom.
