The town of Eumundi has a fascinating history. Long before the famous market was created, the town emerged from the early timber industry. This book introduces you to those earliest days and those early characters - European settlers moving onto the traditional lands of the Kabi Kabi nation in the 1870s and 1880s. Then the railway arrived, with trains connecting Brisbane to the golden town of Gympie. Hotels and stores were built and the farmers flourished with dairy, sugarcane and fruit before the Great War erupted in Europe and had a lasting impact even in this little pocket of the Sunshine Coast.
Written by the Eumundi Museum’s director, Joe Hextall, the book consists of 154 pages; with 36,000 words and 124 photographs.
