Lionel Bigthumb grew up on the Navajo Reservation located near the Northern Arizona and Utah borders in Page, Arizona. The beautiful mountains and canyons of the area, specifically Antelope Canyon were Lionel’s childhood backyard. Born in Phoenix Indian Hospital in 1982, Lionel was raised by his grandmother who had started a guide business for tourists interested in photographing the area, perhaps one of the first eco-tourism companies of our time.
