How Your Sponsorship Helps the Jill M. Taylor Dance Company
The Jill M. Taylor Dance Company is run purely by volunteers. All donations, funds raised and proceeds from sales of tickets and merchandise are invested straight into our annual Nutcracker Ballet production. As the costs of goods and services generally increase in the economy, the annual production cost for us tends to increase as well and is currently estimated at approximately $35,000. This figure includes rental of the venue for dress rehearsals and performances, hiring professionals for security, theater lighting, photography, and videography, costumes, props, performance day meals for the cast and crew, advertising, professional printing, and more.
A core philosophy of our mission is to produce top quality performances at a cost that is reasonable for members of our community. By sponsoring the Jill M. Taylor Dance Company, you allow us to keep ticket prices to $25 for every seat. This price is far more attainable for many families than the average cost of tickets to productions from professional ballet companies, which can soar to nearly $100 for the cheapest tickets, and several hundred dollars for the best seats in the house.
Your sponsorship also allows us to invite all dancers from the community to participate in our Nutcracker Ballet production. Our dancers get professional dance instruction for over three months and the experience of performing in a full ballet production. We strive to keep the participation fee for families as low as we can so that more dancers can join us for this enriching experience. The more funding we’re able to raise through sponsorships, the lower we can keep our participation fee, which is $350 this year. This is higher than we would prefer to charge, but it is still within reach for families who may be unable to manage full-year dance classes.
