You know those days when whatever you've been binge watching feels boring, the book you're reading can't keep your interest, and you feel restless from head to toe?


Whenever I feel that way, I pull out my blank notebook and scribble away. Sometimes I make a list of foods I never want to eat again. Once, I even imagined a scenario where my mortal enemy sits next to me on a plane; I know he has a nut allergy and I wrote out a few confessions about how I would handle that (don't worry, he's fine and we're friends). The point is just to write anything about anything, to sway my mind away from the noise getting in my way.


The act of writing with pen and paper is not only therapeutic, it can move the needle from chaos and unrest to peace and clarity. This prompt journal was created in the spirit of fun and frivolity. Not every entry requires deep thought. The idea is to distract you for a few minutes or hours, to clear your mind, and bring you back the things you enjoy.
